Elect JP Quinones to the Florida State Representatives District 49 |
Hello, my name is J.P. Quiñones and I am running for State Representative, District 49. My family and I moved to Central Florida nearly 30 years ago for the same reasons many of our new neighbors have: it is a great place to live, raise a family and retire.
When I came to Central Florida in 1979 I had difficulty learning the language. However, my parents taught me the value of hard work, a good education, and saving for the future. With these values instilled, I graduated from Lake Howell High School.
I began to work in the tourism industry in order to pay my way through school. Subsequently, I met my wife, Vanessa at Church Street Station at the Cheyenne Saloon almost 20 years ago where she asked me to dance and a month later I asked her to marry me. We have two sons, Pablo and Tony. Our oldest is at Valencia Community College and our youngest is in middle school. They are my inspiration for running.
If elected, I will work hard to bring higher paying jobs to Central Florida, improved eduction opportunities, and provide more options for affordable healthcare to the citizens of District 49.
Respectfully yours,
J.P. Quiñones |

For Immediate Release Contact: Melissa Medina July 31, 2008 (407)-430-3985 Orlando, Fl - In saying "I look forward to working with J.P. Quinones in Tallahassee as we fight to make Florida a safer place to live, work, and raise a family. Join me in supporting Republican JP Quinones for State Representative and please remember to vote Tuesday, November 4th," Attorney General Bill McCollum has announced his choice for the next State Representative of District 49: Juan Pablo "JP" Quinones.
Like many of his constituents, JP and his family moved to Central Florida from Bayamon, Puerto Rico nearly 30 years ago seeking the American dream. He believes that District 49 needs an elected official that is accessible to constituents and willing to voice their concerns and needs. As he stated "the State of Florida is facing trying times and District 49 deserves and requires a Representative that is able to work with the Majority party in order to ensure that we get our fair share of resources and dollars."
"If elected, I will work hard towards affordable health care, improve our education system and bring more jobs to Central Florida," said JP.
JP lives in the South Chase area in Orange County with his wife Vanessa and two sons, Pablo and Tony. Should there be any questions or comments, please email
